What an amazing group of folks here on the BLM. You would never guess the average age is probably 70. These old kids just never stop playing. Dog Burn is actually a weenie roast in the dark. We had music and a PA system. A blazing campfire, and we sang the traditional "Dog Burn" song. Would you be surprised to hear that it is the "Oscar Meyer Wiener Song"? What a hoot. 80 plus adults standing and singing about wanting to be a wiener.
I have determined that the purpose of the Dog Burn is to see who can come up with the most outrageous weenie roasting pole. Some of these roasting poles are telescoping 20 feet long with stabilizing devices to hold it out of the fire. One never has to leave the comfort of the lawn chair while roasting dinner. Note the metal lawn rake roaster above. This clever person can roast several dogs at once.
