We decided to take a detour off Highway 40 West between Kingman and Bullhead City. Part of Route 66, A winding, narrow, steep road up Stigreaves Pass through the Black Mountains. This road not easily navigatable for large, long RV's. But this road leads to a unique old mining town. Wild Donkeys roam the streets of the town, said to be descendants of those who were used in the mines. They are wild and appear to own the town. Watch out for piles of donkey dung and those yellow puddles.
They will nip and kick if they have the urge, so don't get too close.
It appears all the buildings are still in the original condition.
