More News From the Dempster

No stopping or parking on this stretch of Highway. Seems it doubles as an airstrip.

We kept noticing these outlets out in the middle of nowhere. They were usually positioned on the side of the road next to a small creek. We stopped to inspect this oddity. Seems they are 30amp inlets. There is a coil inserted into the duct that runs the creek under the road way. In the winter it freezes solid and when the weather warms up they need to thaw the duct under the road to drain the water.

Cruising the Dempster highway. The highway undulates up and down in spots due to the perpetual permafrost, twisting and turning up through mountain passes and wide open plains.

Oops! We heard this guy pulled over a bit too far trying to avoid a rather large mud puddle. I think this is a rental. Whew!
