Halibut Fishing Out of Homer Alaska

50 feet long and plenty big for us to feel secure out in the open sea fishing for Halibut.
I would definitely recommend a halibut fishing tip if you are in the area. We signed up for the 1/2 day trip. The halibut are smaller but plentiful on the 1/2 day trips. That was enough for me. I forgot to get any pictures of us fishing as we were too busy dropping our lines and pulling in fish.
Glacial View from Homer. They are surrounded by glacial snow. Did I mention this is a very serious fishing village?
This was so cool to watch the seagulls fly after the boat waiting for the carcases to be tossed overboard as the crew cleaned our fish. Another reason to pay for a charter. They clean the fish. All we ended up with was a bag full of filets.

Here is the group catch. It was raining and the spray from the waves was coming over the front and top of the boat to the back of the boat so no one wanted to go out and have their picture with their catch. So this view will have to do.

  1. That's quite a catch. So nice that you don't have to clean and filet your own.
