It's the Critters

It's all about the critters here on Baja. Above is an Osprey dining on his freshly caught breakfast fish.

This beautiful red Cardinal assures we don't oversleep every morning with his aggressive pecking and flapping and general nuisance behavior at our bedroom  window. The windows are reflective and he so wants to get at that other bird he sees in the reflection. He is persistent, over a month now and he has not given up.
Photo taken through the window so it is not as crisp as I would like.

A small squid/octopi wandered up to the shoreline one day. We are not sure what it really is. The locals seem to think it is a baby Squid.

When we poked at him, he flipped over and bared his tentacles for us.

Nan shared a photo of the numerous sea birds fishing to fill their tummies. It is unusual to see so many birds here on Coyote. Hundreds of birds and billions of tiny fishy snacks along the shore.  What a treat for us and the birds.

This is a stellar photo by Robbie. This pelican has a mouth full of fish.  Of course the ever present sea gull, hoping to share in the pelicans dropped morsels.

Tunnel spider nest. I spied this on a hike up the hill. What a treat.
