2016 Baja Fun Finale

Some of the Casa Hogar kids. We Coyote Folks sponsor the kids from Casa Hogar in Mulege for a day on the beach. Chock full of water fun and good eats.

Touring the rock structures out in Conception Bay. The view from the paddle board is crystal clear at this upright and elevated  position. That's Debbie peeking around from the back.

Then there are the craft classes at Posoda. This week project a Sea Weed basket. Soaked in water to make it malleable when wet but wood hard when dry.

A visit to Santa Rosalia revealed these interesting washing machines. Seem they are a must-have in all the local homes. Simple and easy to use.

What can I say about these delicacies? For sure I don't eat them.
My money is on Swine Flew who slated to be the big win at this years Pig Races. The Tijuana tracks are touting his speed and agility.
A good story but-----
they forgot to mention his unruly behavior and how adept he is at slipping out of his harness exiting the track.
Drats---another year of  losses at the Mulege Pig Races.

A new use for all those Baja  sea shells.

Daily fresh juice delivery on the beach.
Why leave home with this service.

A view of Burro Beach with Coyote Beach in the distance. I snagged this photo while climbing mountains with the Posada hiking group. What a fun year of hiking.

Is it a bird? Is it a plane?
No---Norms flying his Drone again.

Camping trip with Chris and Bessy on our overnight trip to the "Far Side". We found a cool camp site in a dry river bed. And hope for no rain.

San Basilio where the sail boats hunker down to wait out the  rough Sea of Cortez weather.

Bano Bulletin Board. Where all the local events are posted for us residing on Coyote Beach. It sure ain't pretty. But very effective.
Another shot of San Basilio.  Day trip for some paddle boarding.
Sea lions lounging in the sun.
The awesome Blue Footed Boobie. I can't get enough of those baby blue feet.

Yes living on the beach can be quite harsh. And much of the luxuries we usually enjoy  in the U.S. are glaringly absent in this small community of Mulege and the surrounding beaches.
But the sun is shining and the sky is blue and it is the warmest winters we have found this close to the U.S. border.
Where else can one  park 10 feet from the water for $8 a day.
That said----it is always a treat to arrive back into the U.S. to the Land-of-Plenty.
