Quebec City and the Gaspesies

Chateau Frontenac in Old Quebec City as we saw from the St. Lawrence Waterway as we ferried across from our campsite in Levis, Quebec. The most European City in North America. With cobblestone streets, well preserved and is  one of only three walled cities left in North America. Did I mention many parts of Quebec speaks French pretty much exclusively.

A visit to the Citadel while in Quebec City. We missed the changing of the guards but just watching this fellow "NOT MOVE A MUSCLE" was very entertaining.

We crested the hill and were greeted by this little town of Perce on the Gaspesie Peninsula. The picture through the windshield does not do it justice but take my word for it, it was stunning. Most of the drive around the entire peninsula was scattered with small fishing villages flanking  the Gulf of St. Lawrence.   Glad we veered off our route to explore this part of Quebec

Not My Photo----I was unable to spot the Northern Gannet Colony when we visited the Gaspesies. This is what they look like and darn, I sure wish I had spotted some.
We arrived in Quebec just in time for the Construction holiday. Seem all the construction workers are on vacation the last two weeks of July.     We thought this was funny.   Someone brought along the wash machine and hooked it up directly to the water/electric post at the site.
Plus, check out the trailer. Part hard sided, part soft sided. I think there was also a slide on the other side. Now thats maximizing floor space.
